Welcome to the National Design Academy

The National Design Academy is a British design school providing interior design courses to educate students worldwide via online distance learning.

The company may have evolved, developed and improved over these past 35+ years but the core ethos of the National Design Academy has always remained the same; to provide flexible and accessible design education to all students.

We welcome international students onto our flexible, online interior design courses, providing a unique opportunity to study for an accredited British Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree from anywhere in the world, without having to travel to the UK.

All NDA courses are taught in English, so international students will require a good standard of written English to study.

All NDA courses, Diplomas, Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees are fully accredited British qualifications.

NDA can offer the lowest fees and scholarships to all our International students as we are a not for profit organisation.

How Can You Study with NDA?

No Previous Qualifications? Don't Worry!

You can start with one of our three Diploma courses: Professional Interior Design, Professional Garden Design or Professional Soft Furnishings & Curtain Making. You can start your own design business, complete your own projects more professionally or progress with a guaranteed place on one of our online degrees.

Guaranteed Progression

If you would like to further your studies, you can progress onto a Bachelor’s Degree, BA (Hons) and then even a Master’s Degree (MA) and pay lower fees with an NDA Progression Scholarship.

Direct Entry onto an NDA Bachelor's, Final year Top-up or Master’s Degree

If students have studied at another institution, direct entry or transfer onto any of our online degree courses is welcome at any level. International students are welcome.

NDA International Studio - Dubai

In 2013 the National Design Academy opened our International Studio in Dubai Knowledge Park, to increase interaction with our UAE and International students. We have bi-lingual tutors who are based full time in the Dubai office enabling the National Design Academy to create closer ties with our increasingly growing Arabic speaking student base.

Recognised Qualifications

NDA Diplomas are accredited by AIM Qualifications and Degrees are awarded by our academic partner De Montfort University Leicester (DMU).

International Students will receive the same certificate issued to students studying at the University, certificates do not refer to Online Study.

The UK has a well-deserved global reputation for providing high quality and reputable higher education. There are 157 institutions in the UK that are permitted to award degrees. All these institutions have degree awarding powers recognised by the UK authorities (UK and Scottish Parliament, Welsh and Northern Ireland Assemblies).

Be Aware! Diploma Courses can ONLY be accredited by Government awarding bodies. Trade associations and distance learning councils etc, cannot offer course accreditation. Even if a school says it is an approved centre, check that the course itself is accredited with the awarding body. Without accreditation you will not be able to progress.

KHDA TVET License (UAE)

The NDA has a vocational education license to teach in the UAE.

In order to teach professional courses in the UAE the institute must have a Vocational Education License (TVET License). Please check with KHDA before you start any professional qualification that the institute has a TVET license.

In order to work legally in the UAE and in many parts of the world you must have a level 3 qualification which is the equivalent of an A-Level.

You must also have a level 3 Diploma to go onto study a Bachelor’s Degree at level 4, 5 and 6.

IELTS

Diploma Students

You do not require English Language qualifications to study a Diploma just a good standard of written English. Successful Diploma students will be accepted onto an NDA Bachelor’s Degree without IELTS.

Degree Students

Degree courses are taught in English, so international students will require a good standard of written English to study. If English is not your first language an IELTS average 6.5 or TOEFL score of 550 or equivalent is usually required. However, all students are considered on an individual basis and their individual ability with written English is taken into account.

International Payments

When enroling onto an NDA course, International (Non UK) Student fee payments are processed through our Dubai Office. Fees can be paid in full or by monthly instalments.

When opting to pay in full via Bank Transfer you will be provided with the correct account name, address, details and a unique Payment Reference.
